ABSTRACT
The study carried out by the method of 24 h dietary recall in the years 1985-1993 in a group of 2710 pregnant women for the assessment of their nutrition showed a small reduction of the energy value of their daily food rations over that time period which was connected with lower intake of total fats and carbohydrates. In relation to the recommended nutrition the daily food rations over these women had lower content of most vitamins and minerals. This was due to faulty composition of their meals, with too low content of vegetables, fruit, milk and its products, and fish in relation to the recommended intake.
