ABSTRACT
The studies on the intakes of cooking salt and cholesterol were carried out in winter 1996/1997 among children aged 13-15 years from selected primary schools. The mean daily intake of salt was found to meet the FAO/WHO recommendation for girls and to be too high for boys, particularly rural ones. The mean intake of cholesterol met the recommendations for urban girls and exceeded the recommended intakes for other examined groups, being the highest for rural boys.
